our Story

Located in Rush City, Minnesota, The Fort is a cozy bar and restaurant featuring handcrafted cocktails, craft beer and food from scratch.

When Tiki Tim’s food truck began running twelve years ago, it was with the dream of someday serving each dish and more at a permanent location. With the opening of The Fort, that dream has become a reality.  You can still find all of the signature favorites on the menu inside (including the well known fish tacos and tiki cakes) along with a hand crafted menu of from scratch food, including burgers, burritos and steaks.

From snow forts, pillow forts, to an escape in the north woods. The Fort was inspired by all the places growing up in Minnesota where you could just escape, relax, tell stories and maybe get into a little trouble. 

At The Fort, owners Tim and Shannon have worked to create a welcoming, friendly and relaxing ambiance they hope becomes a place in the community to relax, laugh and tell stories over good food and drinks. With a handcrafted menu, a carefully selected rotation of craft beers on tap and cocktails that make you feel like a kid again.
